Dr. Magsino Sr., the three- year Internal Medicine (IM) Residency Training Program maintains an innovative curriculum that is focused on academic excellence, comprehensive clinical training, professional ethical standards, total patient care, congenial peer relations and active community work. With a goal to produce highly- qualified and competent internists, the training program provides each resident with access to modern, state- of- the- art technology, mentorship from seasoned and renowned medical practitioners, and ample exposure to various subspecialties in internal medicine. Our IM Residency Training Program is fully accredited by the Philippine College of Physicians. Mediatrix doctors have outstanding credentials and have passed rigorous screening standards from the Credentials Committee. THE PROGRAMThe Program In the three- year program, residents assume graduated levels of responsibility for patient care. Residents interact directly with the attending physicians and discuss diagnostic and treatment plans. During their first year, residents are mainly stationed in the wards to attend to General Medicine patients. For their second year, residents are predominantly assigned in the Emergency Room (ER) and rotate in 4 major subspecialties (Cardiology, Pulmonology, Infectious Diseases and Gastroenterology). They are also given significant exposure to the other sub- specialties: Nephrology/Dialysis Center. Hematology. Oncology/Chemotherapy & Blood Transfusion Unit. Rheumatology. Endocrinology/ Diabetes Clinic. Neurology/Psychiatry. Allergology and Immunology. In their third year, residents oversee the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and assume administrative responsibilities. Throughout their training, all residents see indigent patients in the Out- Patient Department with close supervision from the Consultant Staff.
